Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) will soon going to conduct written examination on 4002 vacancies of police constable in J&K state police department. The recruitment has been awaited from a long time which has finally been initiated by JKSSB under the official recruitment notification 01/2024.
The final date to submit online application form for JK police constable will be 29th of August, where as its written test will be expected to be conducted in the month of October. The selection process includes written exam, physical standard test (PST), physical endurance test (PET) and medical examination.

J&k Police Constable Written Exam Pattern
- All questions will be objective type MCQs.
- The question paper will be of 100 marks.
- There will be 100 question with each question carry one mark each.
- Question paper will be set in English language only.
- Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
General Knowledge & Awareness: Questions from GK and current affairs of J&K, national and international including economic issues, polity issues, environment issues, science and technology and any other current issues. Indian history and culture, Indian polity, constitution of India, geography, economy and general science. General knowledge of Jammu and Kashmir’s geography, administration, history, economy, agriculture, tourism, etc.
Basic Elementary Mathematics: Maths of 10th level, Arithmetical and Numerical abilities, Number Systems, Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs.
Reasoning and Aptitude Ability: Directions and Distance, Order and Ranking, Sitting Arrangement, Clock, Calendar, Dice, Syllogism, Blood Relations, Statements and Conclusions, problem solving, decision making, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, etc.
JKSSB Police Constable Physical Standard Test (PST)
- FOR MALE:
- Height: 5′ 6 inch (Minimum)
- Chest Girth Unexpanded: 32 inch
- Chest Girth Expended: 33 ½ inch
- FOR FEMALE:
- Height: 5′ 2 inch (Minimum) (Relaxation of 2 inch for Gorkha and Bot tribe for both male and female candidate)
JK Police Constable Bharti Physical Endurance Test (PET)
- For Male candidates
- Long Race: 1600meters in 6 h minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)
- Pushups: 20 (one cycle of up and down to be counted as one)
- For Female candidates
- Long Race: 1000meters in 6 1⁄2 minutes (Six minutes and thirty seconds)
- Shot put (4Kgs): 14 1⁄2 feet in three attempts.
