The final selection of district judge is based on preliminary exam, mains and interview. It should be noted that there is no mention of Rajasthan district judge syllabus in the official recruitment notification. However, there is a reference mentioned for Schedule-VIII and Schedule-IX of ‘RHC EXAM RULES’. This syllabus also follows the same schedules as mentioned in the official recruitment notification.

Rajasthan High Court District Judge Preliminary Exam pattern 2024
- The Preliminary Examination shall be objective type examination, consisting of 150 multiple choice/objective type questions (carrying 01 mark each) to be solved within a period of three hours (180 Minutes / 3 Hours).
- Recruiting Authority shall prescribe requisite minimum qualifying marks.
- The preliminary examination shall be objective type examination in which 70% weightage will be given to the subjects prescribed in syllabus for Law and 30% weightage shall be given to test proficiency in Hindi and English language.
- The marks obtained in the preliminary examination shall not be counted towards the final selection.

- The Main Examination shall be consisting of subjective/narrative type questions and comprise of four papers of 100 marks each.
- The duration of each Paper will be of 03 hours (180 minutes).

Rajasthan District Judge Syllabus For Mains Paper- IV (Writing Skill & Knowledge)
- (a) Language which includes translation, precis, essays, etc. Translation may include Hindi to English and English to Hindi (40 marks).
- b) Judgment writing (40 marks):-
- i. Settlement of issues
- ii. Framing of charges
- iii. Writing of Judgment/ Order
- c) Landmark Judgments of Supreme Court and Rajasthan High Court (20 marks)
Rajasthan District Judge Interview Questions Scheme & Pattern
The interview shall be of 50 marks. In interviewing a candidate, suitability for employment to the Judicial Service in the Cadre of District Judge shall be tested with reference to his record at the School, College, University, his character, personality, address, logical reasoning and physique. Question which may be put to him may be of a general nature and will not necessarily be academic or legal. The candidate will also be put questions to test his general knowledge including knowledge of current affairs and present day problems, proficiency in the Rajasthani dialects and knowledge of social customs of Rajasthan. The marks so awarded shall be added to the marks obtained by each candidate in the Main Examination.
