Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has invited applications on 255 posts of bacille Calmette-Guerin technician also known as BCG technician. BCG is a vaccine for tuberculosis (TB) disease. BCG is used in many countries with a high prevalence of TB, therefore the job of BCG technician to assist the health department in UP to manage and run its vaccination program all over the state. The last date to apply online is 7th of August 2024.
Here, you can read an unofficial BCG technician syllabus and exam pattern to start preparing for the written exam right from today. We would like to mention that official notification does not mention anything about its syllabus or exam pattern.

PART-I
- General Anatomy and Physiology (Osteology, Cytology, Histology and only basic of all organ system).
- Basics of relevant Biochemistry.
- Tuberculosis – Definition, Incubation Period, Etiology, Pathogenesis, Clinical feature.
- Demography & Epidemiology of Tuberculosis: Problem Statement – India, World.
- Natural History of Tuberculosis.
- Basic of relevant pathology, Bacteria, Immunisation and its Hazard.
- National programme & Policies on control of Tuberculosis, B.C.G. Vaccine, Route of administration of Injection, Diagnosis, Management & Complication of Tuberculosis, HIV & Tuberculosis coordination.
PART-II
Basics Knowledge of Computer: Computer History, Internet and World Wide Web (WWW), Hardware and Software, Input and Output, Internet Protocol/IP Address, IT gadgets and their uses, E-mail ID and use/operation of e-mail, Operation of Printer, Tablet and Mobile Phone, MS-word, Excel, Powerpoint, Operating System, Social Networking, e-Governance, etc.
PART-III
General Knowledge of Uttar Pradesh: History, Culture, Art, Architecture, Festivals, Folk Dance, Literature, Regional Languages, Heritage, Social Heritage, Social Customs and Tourism, Geographical Landscape and Environment, Natural Resources, Climate, Soil, Forest, Wildlife, Mines and Minerals, Economy, Agriculture, Industry, Business and Employment, Polity, Administration of Uttar Pradesh and its Current Events.
UP BCG Technician Examination Pattern 2024
We are not sure about the examination pattern to be followed in this exam as it is not mentioned in the official notification. We believe that PART-I will carry at least 50% weightage in preliminary exam. The selection for BCG technician is based on prelims and mains exam, so stay tuned with us for more updates related to this exam.
